Available Positions

Henry Oddo Austin & Fletcher is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our team. Our ideal candidate will assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process, from initial case investigation to trial preparation and post-trial activities. We expect that any applicant for the position be capable of both independent work and collaboration with a team of individuals. A high level of professionalism and integrity is required for this position, including but not limited to the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

Required Qualifications and Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
  • Strong understanding of the litigation process, including expertise in legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
  • Experience conducting written and telephonic communications with opposing counsel, clients, and court personnel
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including appropriate use of grammar, spelling, and proofreading
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Conduct legal research utilizing legal research tools (Westlaw and Lexis Nexis) and gather relevant information for cases through client communications and independent investigation
  • Draft, review, proofread, file, and serve legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, calendaring, and maintaining case management systems
  • Assist attorneys in the preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials, including but not limited to preparation of deposition, hearing, or trial binders, exhibit management, and document and witness preparation
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts
  • Summarize depositions, discovery responses, and records
